Elizabeth Anglin was a skeptic. Though she had experienced some strange things, and was afraid of aliens for most of her childhood, she considered her fears to be irrational. She didn’t believe friends and family members who said they saw aliens, or had relationships with aliens, or even...had been alien in a past life. She thought they were suffering from stress, or an inability to distinguish dreams from reality. Then, on November 29, 1989, she found herself face to face with an alien in her apartment, and realized this kind of event had happened before. Even worse, she realized that a boy she knew growing up had probably been killed when an abduction experience went wrong, and that aliens can make mistakes…sometimes deadly mistakes. Terrified, she contacted abduction researcher Budd Hopkins, who put her in touch with Dr. John E. Mack at Harvard University. Soon after, she became one of the first abductees to research abduction experiences with Dr. Mack. This is the story of what happened before that research. This is the first book in a series of three memoirs. Book two "InquiryMemoirs of an Abduction Research Subject" will be available in Winter, 2016. and "Proof Memoirs of a UFO Hunter" will have a publication date in 2017,

Experience Memoirs of an Abducted Childhood Volume 1 Elizabeth Anglin Books

This was an enjoyable read. I guess what attracts me are the strange intricacies that are found throughout the story.

You have beings that apparently can clone themselves, have the ability to control the soul, could be viewed as having immortality and still somehow despite their process, despite everything that they can do, despite everything they know, with all the risks involved and all the power at their own disposal, they still allowed someone to get killed. Now, I suppose that the blunt, vague response from the beings would be it was just a vehicle 'it doesn't matter. He went to wherever and is now back and so on.' Well to the parents it mattered. That person is dead. That what's aggravating about all of it. As far the author, the continued intrusions of course caused things to slide out of control with her own parents. We seem to be getting into the ends justify the means on the beings part with all the collateral damage its causing. Realistically, that's why I feel somewhat bad about the entire process and it shows me that they're well just like everyone else really. They know more, hopefully, that doesn't create arrogance.

Ultimately, the beings aren't superior or have all the answers. They aren't omnipotent gods and at times they don't know what their doing. They don't see the unforeseen consequences even with everything at their disposal. I've always looked at the universe as a giant game of games within other games until people don't even realize their playing a game anymore, which is something write out of the Robert Monroe book with the fable of BB and AA. Even in his own conferences, Monroe staying true to himself was creating his own game of escape from human addiction, getting escape velocity, and incarnation with onlookers present. That's sort of his crowning achievement if Monroe was BB he managed to turn that into a game. For someone such as him, that would be very important to the BB personality you know the one that was playing games with astral Monroe and throwing him into black holes. He didn't mean to do it was just his game although it terrified Monroe.

Obviously, games of the universe become out of control and it seems naturally result in a lack diversity with beings convinced that their game is the one ring to rule them all and must be played by everyone because it is so important and everyone has to play it. Think belief system territories and construction of societies or the extreme variations such as war between imposing empires. We can go cosmic of course. There's a part of me that wonders if these beings are well stuck being themselves or in a way like a human is stuck being human. If these beings got rid of laughter, then well that wasn't very smart. I can be the idealist and say well maybe the beings should watch Monster's Inc, very closely, analyze the ending multiple times, and go with that to get well things on track here. Maybe that's all the generate pure loosh distillate aka "love" and isolation that comes from technology where that's going.

This is my opinion, but I don't think the beings got a funny bone in them. No offense to them of course. It would be interesting to watch a mantid alien/grey slapstick comedy, but that probably won't ever happen. Since everything seems to be task oriented, maybe they should entertain doing something for no apparent reason. Does there have to be reason behind everything we do, maybe not. I can imagine the "illogical" Vulcan mindset from them. As far as slapstick comedy that's a start. I would encourage them to be funny. That would create puzzlement and confusion I'm sure. "What is funny" that would cause them to stumble over themselves.

I look forward to the next ones, especially the one with Mack.

Experience Memoirs of an Abducted Childhood Volume 1 Elizabeth Anglin Books Reviews

The other-worldly weirdness of Ms. Anglin's childhood will leave you scratching your head as you try to make sense of the unbelievable things she's saying. How she survived is quite a story. I believe her. Ms. Anglin says that she has two more books that document her experiences and now I can't wait to read them. Some of this story will be familiar to those who read about the abduction phenomenon. Other parts will leave you speechless.
Elizabeth's book is both entertaining and informative. She is an excellent writer both in presenting information and in painting pictures of the world around her. I found it difficult to put the book down. If you are an experience you will feel a common bond with Elizabeth's experience, and her reactions to all of them. If you are simply interested in knowing what alien abduction is, and the way it impacts the lives of us abductees/contactees, you will also be completely satisfied with this book. Experience Memoirs of an Abducted Childhood is a wonderfully awesome book.
What a fantastic account of the author's strange experiences growing up. This book not only provides great information about the life and paranormal happenings of an abductee, but Anglin is also just an incredible writer. Her stories are interesting with never a dull moment. She has carefully chosen what to include in the book and writes in a way that is captivating. As you read, you just want to know more and can't wait to find out what happens next.

If you're interested in abduction, this is a book you don't want to miss. There are definitely some interesting things in here, like the time she was missing for a week, or the time her and her friend were missing during the night and had their families and the police searching for them, only to be found in the exact spot they disappeared from a few hours later with no explanation for what happened. Also interesting are the connections between the author's experiences and others in her community. She's not the only one who has been taken and tells some interesting anecdotes about what others told her (without prompting) that suggests these abductions involve multiple people. Also interesting is a mysterious death that can't be explained and a lot more unusual experiences.

I can only hope the next book comes out soon! To truly understand reality, and not just a tiny slice of it, studying the paranormal is a must, even if it often leaves you scratching your head. As more and more experiencers of unusual phenomenon come forward and tell their stories, in books and on TV, we can learn more and more about our multidimensional world.
